REGIONAL POLITICAL ORIENTATION AT THE UKRAINIAN PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS IN 2014

Our study aims to clarify the political orientation of the population, the consistent patterns of the political choice and voting in the regions of Ukraine at the parliamentary elections of 2014 to figure out the topical political-geographic issues of further studies.

The principles of consistency, historicism and scientism platform the application of system approach to description and comparative literature, statistical and threedimensional analysis to achieve the set objectives.

Key findings. The analysis of the voting peculiarities and the reasoning of preferences resulted in the clarification of the vectors of the political orientation and the identification of political choice clusters in the country which prospect further thematic research.

The very subject of research reflects the scientific novelty since political geographers pay insufficient attention to the study of interplay of social and economic factors (education, urbanization, wages, etc.) on political choice of population.

The practical implementation of the resulting provisions and conclusions of the study shape further in-depth study of the regional aspects of the upcoming elections and the situation in the country as a whole.
