SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC PARAMETERS OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE: MEASUREMENT AND DIAGNOSTICS

Goal. The purpose of the article is to create a system of indicators of socio-demographic factors of tourism development in Ukraine and their diagnosis.

Method. The methodological principles of the study were to analyze and synthesize the literature and statistical material collected by the authors. During writing, the following research methods were used: comparative, statistical, and system analysis.

Scientific novelty. The methods of comprehensive assessment of tourism development at the national level have been improved through the use of quantitative and qualitative indicators that characterize both demographic and social processes of tourism development, which allows determining the direction of tourism destination according to the behavioral personality of tourists.

Results. The classification of factors influencing the development of tourism in Ukraine is proposed. Among the variety of factors, social and demographic factors are singled out, which significantly influence the development of tourism, as changes in the demographic structure and social model of population cause most people to spend their free time on travel. А system of criteria (social and demographic), the use of which allows consistently identify the dominant external impact on the development of tourism.

The practical significance of the study is that the results of the diagnosis can be used to develop organizational and socio-economic measures to regulate the development of tourism at the national level.
