METHODOLOGY OF POINT RATING OF RELIGIOUS AND TOURIST OBJECTS

 

The purpose of this study was to develop a technique of point rating of religious and tourist (cult) objects according to various criteria in order to identify the tourist attractiveness of regions and their parts and study the prospects for the development of religious tourism.

Point rating of religious and tourist (cult) objects is done to rate the selected object according to the criteria that allow rating it by a certain number of points. The main criteria (10 in total), which we propose to use for such a rating are: the geographical location of the object (type of settlement and its size, transport accessibility, etc.), compositional value of the object, the presence of shrines, architectural appearance and value, infrastructure of the very object, historical significance, church (confessional) significance, attraction and accessibility to visit, the availability of informational resources and the current state of the object. From 1 to 5 points can be given for each criterion. Thus, each object can be maximally rated at 50 points. Since each criterion is awarded the appropriate weighting factor, after mathematical recalculation the object will receive from 1 to 10 points. Religious and tourist potential of the territory is estimated as the sum of points of all objects that are in this territory.

The scientific novelty consists in the fact that the proposed point rating technique will reveal the most valuable and unique objects for the development of religious tourism, taking into account their features according to different criteria.

The practical significance is that after the rating of religious and tourist objects, we will be able to choose the most unique of them and make a tourist route. The proposed methodology also allows distinguishing regions and their separate regions, which have the greatest prospects for the development of the tourism industry.
